
Propeller Coffee Co. is an award-winning event venue in the heart of Toronto's West end. A commercial space converted from a metal-works facility, our property once created the wrought iron fixtures, structural components, and decorative building materials that dot the Toronto landscape.
Now home to an artisan coffee roastery & cafe by day, we offer an elegantly industrial and beautifully light-filled space, featuring high ceilings and exposed brick. Our venue is the perfect space for weddings, special celebrations, photo & film shoots, corporate events and meetings. Propeller has also been voted one of the most accessible venues in Toronto.

What is the capacity?
110 cocktail style, 80-100 seated dinner.
When is the venue available?
We are mostly an evenings-only event space as we are a busy cafe by day. However, we do offer venue buy-outs for day-time events, shoots, or meetings.
What is the rental fee?
We have several tiers of fees, depending on the hours of the event, low/high season rates, etc. Reach out to events@propellercoffee.com for a quote.
What is included in the rental fee?
The rental fee includes the space, the guidance of our Events Manager during the planning stages of your event, a Venue Supervisor who is present during your event, cleaning, and our cafe tables and chairs.
Are there any other costs?
Service staff including bartenders (arranged through one of our preferred caterers), rentals (arranged through one of our preferred caterers), event insurance, security officer and coffee service are additional costs.
Who can cater my event?
Each of our preferred caterers have been carefully selected to offer our clients a range of styles and price points. Our preferred catering partners are experienced in our space and will work closely with you to discuss your budget, menu, floor plan, and they will organize your rentals & staffing (including bartenders). Please reach out to them directly to get a quote started.
What is a landmark fee?
A landmark fee is a percentage of the caterer’s invoice that is paid to the venue for operating within that venue. Our landmark fee of 15% is charged on food only and will be applied to your final catering invoice.
Will you provide the coffee?
Of course! We serve our award winning coffee at all of our events. We also produce small custom bags of freshly roasted beans that can be used for wedding favours or event gifts.
Is Propeller licensed?
No. Event clients must obtain a Special Occasion Permit (“SOP”) in order to serve alcohol at an event. The process is simple and can be completed online here.
Can we drink alcohol outside?
Alcohol may be permitted outside of the building if rental fencing has been set up in accordance with the AGCO guidelines and the area is included in the SOP application.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
Yes! We do not charge corkage or any other fees on alcohol. You must provide a Special Occasion Permit to serve alcohol and ensure your caterer has secured the appropriate number of SmartServe certified bar staff.
What goes into planning my event?
You (or a designated event planner or friend) will liaise with our Events Manager during your planning stages. Communicate details of your event with your chosen caterer so that service is perfectly timed to your itinerary and the serving staff are well informed of your plans. Our preferred caterers will organize all the staffing and rentals on your behalf.
